Ingredients

tablespoons butter or margarine

medium onion, finely chopped (1/2 cup)

cloves garlic, finely chopped (1 teaspoon)

cups ketchup

cup vinegar
1
cup maple syrup
1/2
cup orange juice
1/4
cup Worcestershire sauce

tablespoons ground mustard
2
tablespoons lemon juice
1
teaspoon salt
1/2
teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2
teaspoon paprika
2
slices lemon, seeds removed

Directions

  • 1 In 3-quart saucepan, heat butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook 8 to 9 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
  • 2 Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer 30 minutes to blend flavors, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 Remove and discard lemon slices. Store covered in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
