The First Lady of
The Kitchen Prepares Celebration Cake
for the First Couple of Daytime Dramas

“General Hospital’s” Luke and Laura Ask Betty Crocker to Make Their Wedding Cake

Minneapolis—November 6, 2006—When daytime’s most beloved couple, “General Hospital’s” Luke and Laura, celebrate their wedding which coincides with the 25th Anniversary of their original marriage during a commemorative episode on November 16, the cake will be prepared by another icon, Betty Crocker.

The couple selected a rich, moist vanilla cake made from SuperMoist white cake mix enriched with sour cream.  It was frosted with a creamy vanilla frosting made from Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy ready-to-spread frosting mixed with sweetened condense milk.

The simple white-on-white cake design was embellished with small rose buds.
“When ABC approached us with the opportunity to provide this cake, we were delighted,” says Sumit Dhawan, marketing manager.  “It was a wonderful opportunity to connect this baking icon with a television pop culture icon in a fun and, I might add, delicious way.”
“General Hospital” airs Monday-Friday afternoons on the ABC Television Network and Monday-Friday evenings and Sunday marathons on SOAPnet.  It was recently awarded 5 Daytime Emmy Awards, including a record ninth for Best Daytime Drama.  It celebrated 43 years of broadcasting on April 1, 2006 and is the longest-running dramatic series on ABC Television Network.
