I also agree with San Ramon. I do not know what the little flakes in the dough are but I do not like the new recipe. I always had plenty of these mixes on hand for semi homemade desserts but I really no longer feel they stand up to their name. I hope they see these posts and go back to their original recipes.

I must agree 100% with Baking San Ramon. I thought it was just me but these used to be the easiest, best, no-fail cookie mix to buy. The cookies always came out perfect, whether you just dropped spoonfulls onto the baking sheet or made cut-out cookies - perfect every time. However, the last 3-4 times I bought and baked them - what a nightmare. Either they were too gooey/sticky and came out either too soft or too crispy, or, I'd try adding a little bit of flour and they came out of the over too hard, etc. I tried everything, thinking that I was doing something wrong. Now I feel better to know that I am not the only one who noticed that the product has definitely changed. Why would they fix something that wasn't broken?? What a shame! I was actually looking on this website to see if there was another recipe for these cookies as I mixed up some this a.m., but now, I don't think that I will waste anymore time on them. Thanks for the feedback.

One of the worst ever I tried to make drop cookies and it was just sticking everywhere I'd have to say the prep is horrible I feel that you have to put too much butter and stuff just stick wig jiffy also it comes out too sweet it was. So sweet my mom told me to give it to my freinds but they said it was the best cookie ever They were shocked to know I made it tho

I bake all the time. I have bought over 100 bags of this cookie mix since they started making it. Used to be the best ever, but now it is awful! Used to have directions to melt one stick of butter and mix it with the bag contents, and it was PERFECT! Every time. I love eating cookie dough too, and it used to taste soooo good. Then I started noticing little flakes of something in the mix, and it gave it a weird texture. Then I noticed that the recipe has changed to have softened (not melted) butter and to add an egg. All I can say is this recipe is now awful(and I've tried over 10 times to make it work!). The dough tastes ok, but even worse, it never bakes right. It is always too soft and the cookies flatten out and get too crispy. I've tried modifying the dough ball size, etc, but NOTHING works. It is terrible, mostly because this recipe was so good before. It was always perfect. My Mom and I were talking about it last night, and she said the same thing! She also buys the chocolate chip and the peanut butter and she said she is having the same problem. I guess I have to give up on this product now. Unless it is changed back, I won't be buying it any more. The cookies I make from scratch are so much better. These used to be comparable but not any more. Not even close. Too bad it was changed.

i made the drop cookies. i was playing around with ideas so i took some of the batter and rolled them in cinnamon and sugar and and turned them into snickerdoodles. some i rolled in sprinkles. ---both surprisingly very good! i even played around with some of the batter and added frozen raspberries and whipped up some bar cookies. not bad

Great! I make these often with a few adjustments and people comment on how great my scratch made cookies are.

I was sad to see that this cookie product has been discontinued. I did not make the sugar cookie cutouts, but made thumbprint cookies with a raspberry jam filling using the sugar cookie product as a base. These cookies were very simple and awesomely delicious. It was one of my most favorites. How will I ever make my easy thumbprint cookies again? I am truly saddened.

I'm sorry to say my mom bought 2 bags of this sugar cookie mix and our family's christmas was almost ruined because of it (I say 'almost' because it'd take alot to ruin our christmas) I followed the directions for the cut-out sugar cookies for the first bag and it was so 'gooey' I had to add nearly 1/2 a bag of flour just to roll them out without it sticking to the pin! The second bag I tried to 'chill' the mixture before rolling it out hoping that would help, but it didn't... and after tasting them, they tasted more like 'butter cookies' than sugar cookies. Made me sick. Sorry for the bad rating, I tried to make them work but I think someone needs to fix the recipe's on that cookie mix.

Bought these tonight hoping to have a fun night with the kids. I hated them, The dough kept sticking. We had to keep using flour. They didn't cut well using the cookie cutters. The kids didn't have fun. The homemade recipe from allrecipes for soft christmas cookies was much better and will be what we use for Santa.
