I simply cannot understand previous reviews about the fishy smell/taste! I have an extremely sensitive set of taste buds and can tell if food is going bad days before others notice! I can also distinguish subtle differences in smells, tastes and appearances of consumables! I used a pkg that was nearing its "best if used by" date and it was fine! I just made another batch with a 11 month out date and it, too, is fine! There is no off smell and they are fine. No, they aren't like Grandma used to make but for quick, easy and peanutty taste, they work, just fine. Dress them up with the addition of chips, etc and you're good to go!

Here's the thing. I make peanut butter cookies all the time. I used to work in a bakery where we made the BEST ones. I didn't want to work all that hard last night so I just bought this mix and did it exactly as the directions said. These "peanut butter" cookies don't taste like peanut butter. At all. What in the world is wrong with the people testing these? Have they never tasted peanut butter before? This is ridiculous. Next time, I don't care how tired I am. I'll cook my own instead. Y'all need someone in your kitchens who knows what they're doing.

I just made these and they are delicious, perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside (and they don't smell like fish at all....? )

I had the same experience as Aquaria; they smell and taste like fish. Very disappointed because I was going to take these cookies to my neighbor for Christmas; now I have nothing to take to her.

This is the first Betty Crocker cookie mix I've tried. I need to use up my leftover mini chocolate chips (about 1/2 cup) so added it to the mix (how can adding chocolate ever be bad!?!). Yum!! Am looking forward to trying other flavors.

Completely awful. They smelled and tasted like catfish, which was completely gross. You could smell it all over the kitchen, and into a couple of other rooms, too. Did they mix in some fish fry batter in here? It was disgusting.

Disgustingly yuck!! They were hot spicy, enough so that it should have been indicated on the package, something like spicy peanut butter cookies. One of my son's friends asked him if I had loaded up the recipe with jalapeños. The overall taste of the cookie, even without the heat was substandard. I will NOT buy these as a base and work up by adding ingredients, I will never buy this stuff again. In fact, I want to be refunded for the package I did buy.

I made these cookies tonight and thought they were good. Second batch, I made balls smaller and put in a mini muffin paper, set in a mini muffin pan and cooked 2 mins less. Put kisses on top as soon as out of over. Came out of muffin tins beautifully. The first ones, I didn't use a muffin paper and they spread out and were harder. Not nearly as good as baked in mini muffin papers. They look pretty and are soft! :) Tip for the tester bakers at Betty Crocker Kitchens! :) I made them to take to an Assisted Living Facility tomorrow, Halloween accompanied by my pet corgi, a certified Pet Therapy Dog with Angel Paws. She will help me pass them out! :)

These cookies came out looking PERFECT! They have NO taste, but they look phenomenal. Guess I will tell my husband they are "Tuesday Cookies"...not as horrible as a Monday, but closer to Friday. OY! I made these for him! :(

I substitute 3 tbs of peanut butter for one tbs of the oil. My favorite recipe is a dessert pizza made from 3 of the Betty crocker cookie mixes. I use a large sugar cookie batch & spread on a pizza pan. I add a sm brownie mix on top for the sauce. I roll out the peanut butter cookie mix and cut little round "pepperoni" circles and bake. When cooled I add slivers of white chocolate. Delicious!
