How to Make Gravy
Master delicious homemade gravy in just minutes (and five steps!) by using the fat and juices from your roasted turkey.
You know the expression “it’s gravy?” As in, it’s ultra-easy? We’re pretty sure whoever thought of that phrase was referring to Betty Crocker’s recipe for Foolproof Turkey Gravy. Added bonus: You already have most of what you need to make the gravy since you’ve just roasted your first turkey like a pro!
Pour turkey drippings (the fat and juices from your roasted turkey) from the roasting pan into a bowl, leaving the brown particles in the pan. Measure out ¼ cup of the drippings and return them to the roasting pan.
Sprinkle ¼ cup of flour into the pan and cook over medium heat.
Stir constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
Pour in broth and heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.
Stir in drops of browning sauce—which you can pick up at the grocery store to add more color to your gravy—and finish with salt and pepper.
