Nutmeg
Whole nutmeg is the seed from the nutmeg tree, a tropical evergreen. The hard seed, shaped like an egg, is grayish brown and about 1 inch long. The seed is covered with a membrane that is made into the spice mace. Nutmeg is sold whole or ground. The flavor is sweet and spicy.
How to Use
