Milk
In the U.S., most of the milk sold is pasteurized, a process that destroys most of the microorganisms that can cause diseases such as salmonella. Cow's milk is the most common, especially in the U.S. It's available as whole milk, reduced-fat, low-fat and fat-free (skim). Other varieties are buttermilk, evaporated milk, and sweetened condensed milk.
