Marzipan
European confection made from almond paste, powdered sugar and sometimes Kirsch (a clear brandy made from cherries). As a candy, it is often tinted and shaped to form diminutive fruits, vegetables and animals. In pastry making, marzipan may be rolled out and used between layers of cake or other pastry.
