Welcome Baby Shower

Welcome Baby Shower

Anticipating the arrival of a new family member is such an exciting time. A shower of love and good wishes from family and friends is the culmination of the long wait (at least until the baby arrives!) Celebrate these happy times with some whimsical baking and a delicious grown-up buffet.

Tips from the Experts

Ann Stuart

"To create your own signature blend iced teas, steep different combinations of black and herbal teas in a pot for several minutes; let cool, then transfer to a pitcher and refrigerate."

Ann, Food Editor - Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • Ask the guests to bring a donation of baby formula for the local food shelf and a favorite children's board book for the guest of honor.
  • Buy a beautifully bound journal. Ask everyone to jot down favorite childhood memory or wish for the new baby.
  • Have a little sing-a-long - take requests for favorite lullabies or camp songs to prime the parents-to-be!

The Day Before

  • Make the Gingered Shrimp. Cover and refrigerate to marinate until party time.
  • Bake and decorate Baby Rattle Cupcakes.

The Morning Of

  • Make the Three-Onion Spread. Cover and refrigerate.
  • Set the buffet/serving table with flatware, napkins, plates, a basket of crackers for the onion spread, beverage glasses, etc.

Just Before Party

  • Assemble the Tomato-Goat Cheese Bruschetta. Pop into oven about 20 minutes before you want to serve your guests.
