Ingredients

  • 1 container (16 oz) creamy vanilla ready-to-spread frosting
  • 6 plain mini cake doughnuts
  • 12 plain cake doughnut holes
  • 2 tablespoons coarse white sugar
  • 6 thin pretzel sticks, broken in half
  • 2 chewy fruit snacks in three-foot rolls (any flavor from 4.5-oz box), cut into six 7- or 8-inch pieces
  • 1 tube Betty Crocker™ black decorating gel (or other colors)
  • 6 orange candy sprinkles
  • 12 candy-coated chocolate or fruit-flavored candies (about 1 tablespoon)

Steps

  • 1
Place 12x12-inch sheet of waxed paper on work surface. In small microwavable bowl, microwave frosting on High 10 to 20 seconds or until soft.
  • 2
For each snowman, dip 1 doughnut into frosting to cover; place on waxed paper. Dip 1 doughnut hole into frosting to cover; press on doughnut for snowman body. Dip second doughnut hole into frosting to cover; press on top of first doughnut hole for head. Sprinkle with about 1 teaspoon coarse sugar. If frosting becomes too thick for dipping, microwave on High 5 to 10 seconds to soften.
  • 3
Gently push 2 pretzel stick pieces into opposite sides near top of each snowman body for arms.
  • 4
Peel off paper from fruit snack roll pieces; fold each in half lengthwise to make scarf. Wrap scarf around neck of each snowman. With scissors, make several thin cuts on each end of each scarf for fringe.
  • 5
With decorating gel, draw dots on heads for eyes; insert orange candy sprinkles for noses.
  • 6
Gently press 1 candy-coated chocolate candy into frosting on each side of each snowman head. Draw line of decorating gel over top of each head to connect 2 candies and form earmuffs. For easier eating, let stand until frosting is set, about 30 minutes. To serve, place on serving tray or platter.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Mini doughnuts are usually available at convenience stores or near the snack cakes in grocery stores.
  • tip 2
To coat the doughnuts and doughnut holes, spear them with a fork and dip them into the softened frosting.
