  • Prep 10 min
  • Total 9 hr 10 min
  • Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 3 lb country-style pork loin ribs
  • 1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke

Steps

  • 1
Spray 4- to 5-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place ribs in slow cooker. In medium bowl, mix all remaining ingredients. Pour over ribs.
  • 2
Cover; cook on Low heat setting 9 to 10 hours.

  • Serve a big bowl of creamy coleslaw, baked chili beans and cornbread muffins alongside the ribs. Don’t forget big cloth napkins.
  • Can’t find pork loin ribs? Baby-back or spare ribs are fine options, though the loin ribs tend to be a little meatier.
  • To add some zip to the sauce, sub in bottled chili sauce for the ketchup and sprinkle in some crushed red pepper at the end of cooking.
  • For extra flavor and color, try broiling the cooked ribs. Position oven rack four inches from broiler element. Set oven control to broil. Line rimmed sheet pan with foil. Spray with cooking spray. Remove ribs from slow cooker and place on foil; broil ribs 2 to 4 minutes or until sticky, crispy and blackened in spots.
