    Wash beans; remove thin outer edge of pod with sharp knife or scissors. Slip out beans. Cook as desired below; season with salt and pepper.

    <b>Cooking Guide for Lima Beans</b><BR><BR> <B>To Boil:</B> Heat 1 inch water (salted if desired) to boiling in saucepan. Add beans. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Boil gently uncovered 5 minutes. Cover and boil 15 to 20 minutes (for 3 pounds unshelled beans) or until tender.

    <B>To Microwave:</B> Place beans in microwavable casserole. Add 1/2 cup water per 3 pounds beans. Microwave 16 to 18 minutes, stirring every 6 minutes, until tender.
