Ten minutes, one skillet, and a can of Muir Glen organic fire-roasted tomatoes are the easy start to this satisfying sandwich dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 lb ground sweet Italian sausage
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Muir Glen™ organic fire roasted crushed or diced tomatoes, undrained, pureed in blender or food processor
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 6 burger buns, split

Steps

    In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and sausage over medium-high heat until no longer pink, stirring and breaking up with wooden spoon as necessary.

    Add onion, bell pepper, tomatoes, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and ground mustard. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 minutes.

    Serve over buns.
