1In large pitcher, stir water, lemon juice and sugar until sugar is dissolved.
2Serve lemonade over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and mint.
To maximize the amount of juice from a lemon, roll a room-temperature lemon back and forth on a counter with the palm of your hand, pressing down firmly.
Substitute 1 cup lime juice (about 10 limes) for the lemon juice; increase sugar to 3/4 cup. Garnish with lime slices and strawberries if desired.
