Ground beef is added to homemade baked beans for a hearty, slow-cooked dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion (1 medium)
  • 1 can (28 oz) baked beans
  • 1 can (15.5 oz) kidney beans, drained
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard

Steps

    In 10-inch skillet, cook ground beef, bacon and onion until beef is browned; drain.

    In slow cooker, mix beef mixture and all remaining ingredients.

    Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 hours.
