1Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. Make brownies as directed on box. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
2Stir together frosting, 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon extract and food color until smooth. Spread frosting evenly over brownies. Sprinkle with crushed candies. Refrigerate 30 minutes to chill. For brownies, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store tightly covered.
