Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Look for dried pineapple, mango and banana chips in the grocery store produce department or gourmet foods section. Use bright-red, dried tart cherries in this recipe. Dried Bing cherries are too dark and sweet for the mixture. Like all nuts, macadamia nuts contain lots of fat and can become stale quickly. Look for vacuum-packaged nuts to assure freshness. Immediately seal leftover macadamia nuts in an airtight bag and refrigerate. Always taste stored nuts before adding them to recipes to make sure they're fresh.
