    Remove ends from beans. Leave beans whole or cut into 1-inch pieces. Cook as desired; drain. Toss with butter.

    <b>To Microwave:</b> Cut into pieces. Place beans and water (1/2 cup to 1 pound beans)in microwavable container. Cover and microwave on High 9 to 12 minutes (for 1 pound beans) or until crisp; drain.

    <b>To Boil:</b> Heat 1 inch water (salted, if desired) to boiling in saucepan. Add beans. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Boil gently 5 minutes. Cover and boil 5 to 10 minutes longer (for 1 pound beans) or until crisp-tender; drain.

    <b> To Steam:</b> Place steamer basket in 1/2 inch water in saucepan or skillet (water should not touch bottom of basket). Place beans in steamer basket. Cover tightly and heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Steam 10 to 12 minutes (for 1 pound beans) or until crisp-tender.
