Broccoli with Balsamic Vinegar

Make good broccoli even better by drizzling perfectly cooked spears with sweet-tangy vinegar and freshly ground pepper. MORE + LESS -

    Trim off large leaves; remove tough ends of lower stems. Wash broccoli; peel if desired. For spears, cut lengthwise into 1/2-inch-wide stalks. For pieces, cut stalks crosswise into 1-inch pieces. Cook broccoli as desired. Drizzle vinegar over broccoli and sprinkle with pepper.

    <b>To Boil:</b> Heat 1 inch water (salted if desired) to boiling in saucepan; add broccoli. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Boil gently about 10 minutes for 1 1/2 pounds broccoli or until tender; drain. <P><b>To Microwave:</b> Place in microwavable container with water (1 cup per 1 1/2 pounds broccoli). Cover and microwave on High 9 to 11 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain.</P> <P><b>To Steam:</b> Place steamer basket in 1/2 inch water in saucepan or skillet (water should not touch bottom of basket). Place broccoliin steamer basket. Cover tightly and heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Steam about 10 minutes for 1 1/2 pounds broccoli or until crisp-tender.</P>
