Ingredients

Beer Cream Cheese

  • 2 packages (3 oz each) cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons beer
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper and additional salt to taste

Bagels

  • 4 bagels, split
  • 8 to 12 thin slices deli roast beef
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced

Steps

  • 1
In medium microwavable bowl, microwave cream cheese on High 30 to 60 seconds until softened. Add beer, sour cream, green onion, garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt; stir until well blended. Season with pepper and additional salt, if desired. Cover tightly; refrigerate at least 20 minutes.
  • 2
Spread cream cheese on bagels; serve open-face with roast beef and red onion.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Try this spread on “everything” bagels—those typically topped with poppy and sesame seed, onion and more—or your favorite flavor of bagel. Toast the bagel, if desired.
  • tip 2
Not a fan of beer? You can leave it out and simply mix the remaining ingredients for a delicious and zesty cream cheese spread. You can also use nonalcoholic beer.
  • tip 3
Add some leaf lettuce and turn the bagel into a roast beef sandwich for lunch.
