1Gently squeeze tomato halves to remove juice and seeds. Pipe cheese spread on top of each tomato half. Sprinkle each with chives. Arrange on serving platter.
Use finely sliced green onions in place of the chives.
Cut crosswise, tomatoes of any size can be seeded with only a squeeze.
Seed the tomatoes early in the day and arrange them upside down on a tray. Cover them loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate them. Up to an hour ahead, fill and garnish the tomatoes. Cover them loosely with plastic wrap until serving time.
