Ingredients

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tube Betty Crocker™ red or blue classic gel food color (from 2.7-oz box)
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • 1 can (8.4 oz) Betty Crocker™ Cupcake Icing petal pink or sky blue
  • 1 can (8.4 oz) Betty Crocker™ Cupcake Icing buttercup yellow
  • 1 large marshmallow, cut in half

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottoms only of 2 (8-inch) round cake pans with shortening or cooking spray. Make cake batter as directed on box--except add almond extract and 4 drops red or blue food color with the water. Bake as directed on box for 8-inch rounds.
  • 2
Cool 10 minutes. Run knife around sides of pans to loosen cakes; remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • 3
On serving plate, place 1 cake layer, bottom side up. Spread with 1/2 cup white frosting. Top with second layer. Frost side and top of cake.
  • 4
Pipe decorating icing around bottom and top of cake using border tip and pink or blue icing. Use yellow cupcake icing to make baby pacifier and hair. Use desired decorating icing to make face and hair bow. Place marshmallow half over yellow icing to complete baby pacifier. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Since pacifiers come in so many colors, substitute a colored marshmallow for a white one.
