How to Make a Cheerios Bird Feeder

Created January 10, 2017
It’s spring, and that means we’re welcoming our feathered friends back from the south with adorable DIY bird feeders.

How to Make a Cheerios Bird Feeder

Looking for a fun activity to do with your little nature lover? Try your hand at our incredibly cute DIY bird feeder that’s ready in just three easy steps. First, use a pencil to poke a hole in the pointed end of a sugar ice cream cone. Next, twist a knot in the end of a pipe cleaner, then thread into the cone and through the hole (the knot will hold the pipe cleaner in place). Use a table knife to spread peanut butter on the outside of the cone, and place Cheerios and sprinkle birdseed all over the cone, pressing them into the peanut butter with your fingers to keep them in place. Finally, wrap the top end of the pipe cleaner around a branch in clear view of a window so you can watch birds enjoy the treat!
