5 Ways to Customize Chicken Helper

Who says you have to use chicken in Chicken Helper? From shrimp and sun-dried tomatoes to tofu and ground turkey, here are five unique ways to revamp the classic dinner-in-a-box.

Let’s be real: Sometimes, getting dinner on the table is not a glamorous feat. We barely have time to shower or get everybody out the door in a speedy fashion, let alone figure out how and when to make dinner. That’s why Chicken Helper is so, well, helpful. In just a few minutes you have a complete and wholesome meal ready for the entire family.


But just because it says “chicken” on the box doesn’t mean you can’t think outside the box! Here are five creative and easy ways to customize different types of Chicken Helper for your family, all of which are ready in a half-hour or less!


Parmesan Crusted Chicken Helper® + 1 pound tilapia (or salmon) + 2 tablespoons pesto + 2 teaspoons lemon zest

Replace chicken with tilapia and add the pesto (instead of milk) and lemon zest to the seasoned crumbs before coating the fish.


Fettuccine Alfredo Chicken Helper® + 1 pound cooked and peeled shrimp + 2/3 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes + 1 tablespoon roasted garlic

Swap chicken for shrimp and stir in sun-dried tomatoes and garlic into the completed dish.


Sweet & Sour Chicken Helper® + 1 pound cubed extra-firm tofu + 1 cup frozen stir-fry veggies

Use tofu in place of chicken and add veggies to the browned tofu.


Chicken Fried Rice Helper® + 1 pound ground turkey or pork + 1 cup frozen stir-fry veggies + 2 eggs + chopped scallions for topping

Swap chicken for ground turkey or pork and add stir-fry veggies to the mix. Scramble in a couple of eggs (included in recipe on box) and garnish with chopped scallions before serving.


Cheesy Chicken Enchilada Helper® + 1 (15-oz) can black beans + 1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies + crushed Old El Paso® hard taco shells + sliced avocado

Replace chicken with black beans and diced tomatoes; top meal with crushed taco shell pieces and sliced avocado.
