Rosemary Browned Butter Swirl Bread is an easy, tasty and healthy way to try your hand at baking homemade bread—no bread machine required!

Baking bread at home is much easier than some people think. With fresh ingredients and a little bit of patience, you can have delicious homemade bread on your table without breaking a sweat.

I’m a big fan of whole wheat flour for its added health benefits, but I often find that from-scratch whole wheat breads have a slightly bitter flavor which falls flat. That’s why I love to use Gold Medal® White Whole Wheat flour instead. It contains the same nutrients as wheat flour but yields yummier and prettier results.

One of my favorite basic breads to make with white whole wheat flour is Rosemary Browned Butter Swirl Bread. It’s herby, buttery, sweet and savory all at the same time. Best of all, it’s very easy to make. I love slicing it up as a unique sandwich bread or slathering a slice with butter for breakfast or as a snack. It’s absolutely heavenly for grilled cheese, too!

Though many people are apprehensive to bake bread from scratch, this recipe is nearly foolproof and a great place to start. Just follow the instructions carefully—and don’t be afraid to mess up. I’ve been baking bread consistently for more than two years, and I still don’t get perfect results every time. But don’t be discouraged. Even if your bread doesn’t look like an award winner, it will still taste like one!
