Dusting with powdered sugar finishes an unfrosted cake nicely. Place a small amount of powdered sugar in a small sieve or sifter; and tap to dust over desserts or plates. For a more dramatic look, place a doily, stencil or simple shape on the cake before dusting; remove the pattern carefully.
