How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds

How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds

Planning a trip to a pumpkin patch? Searching for the perfect pumpkin or a bunch of pumpkins is a fun family event.

Here's how to do it:

  • Cut a fresh, well-ripened pumpkin in half. Remove the membrane and seeds. Remove most of the pulp from the seeds (leaving some pulp on is okay because it adds to the flavor; for the same reason, do not rinse the seeds.
  • Heat oven to 300. Spread 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a shallow pan. Sprinkle seeds over oil in single layer. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt over seeds.
  • Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned; cool.
    Happy munching!

I soak my pumpkin seeds overnight unilt there plump. Salt them (reuglar salt) and in oven for about a half hour. Cool and ready to eat.

I rinse my seeds and soak them in a sea salt bath.

We always soak them for at least an hour in salt water prior to baking...Seems to keep the inner seed moist

We sprinkled a cinnamon and sugar mixture on the top of ours last year :)

You can also soak the seeds in a salt water solution and add other spice flavors that you like to the water for a wonderful experience. Bet you can't eat just one? Delicious!

If you add a little season salt to the pumpkin seeds, it also turns out very well.
