small onion, finely chopped (1/4 cup)

clove garlic, finely chopped

can (18 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy Parmesan basil cooking sauce
1
can (18 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ fire roasted tomato cooking sauce
1/4
teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Hot cooked pasta or gnocchi, if desired
Garnishes, If Desired
Grated fresh or ground nutmeg
Freshly ground black pepper
Shaved or shredded Parmesan cheese
  1. In 2-quart saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil over medium-low heat. Cook onion and garlic in oil 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until onion is tender.
  2. Stir in cooking sauces and pepper flakes; heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes to blend flavors. Serve over pasta; sprinkle with nutmeg, pepper and cheese.
