Zesty Beef Stroganoff

lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef

cup hot water

cups milk

box Hamburger Helper™ stroganoff

teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

can (2.8 oz) French-fried onions
1/2
cup coarsely chopped red, green and/or yellow bell pepper

cup ketchup

  • 1 In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain.
  • 2 Stir in hot water, milk, sauce mix and uncooked pasta (from Hamburger Helper box) and pepper flakes. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
  • 3 Reduce heat; cover and simmer 8 minutes. Stir in 2 tablespoons of the French-fried onions, the bell pepper and ketchup.
  • 4 Cover; simmer about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. To serve, sprinkle with remaining onions.
