My Daughter Birthday is on Halloween and I have been making these for her halloween theamed birthday partys for the last 8 years and no matter how old she gets they are always a big hit and easy and quick to put together. I make royal icing to set teh kiss and push it downso a littlet seaps out the show around the rim and I pips the bowe as royal icing hardens to the touch to stay in place with no problems at all. I now take them to work andagain a big hit.

I used these cookies as cupcake toppers for Halloween-themed cupcakes. The kids loved that they got a cupcake, a cookie, and a piece of chocolate candy. I found it was much simpler to pipe frosting around the hole in the center of each cookie (vs. piping it around the kiss), and then I placed the kiss on top of the frosting. This alternative made perfect bands for the hat. (I skipped the bows, as I, too, was having trouble getting them to turn out as well as pictured.) For an added touch, I reserved some frosting to tint yellow and used that to adhere yellow stars (cupcake sprinkles) to the kisses.

I had some trouble making the bows with frosting so I used the peel n pull licorice strings instead. It was fairly easy to make those into bows and slip them over the Hersey Kiss.

Just got done making these for my sons class party tomorrow. I did what another reviewer mentions, melting the bottom of the kiss so it'll stick better to the cookie. The bows....yeah looked like globs. I had a Wiltons' can of icing (that comes with 4 nozzles...it bit!!). I had to clean some up and redo them & no there are no bows on any of them. I just put some orange & black sprinkles on top!

Definately heat the kisses for 2-3 seconds in a skillet they sit very easy on the base. I had a heck of a time with the bow, no way to get the loops....I will try something else next time for them...but they were were very easy and tasted great.
