cups dried green or yellow split peas

cup julienne-cut or chopped dry-pack sun-dried tomatoes

tablespoons chicken bouillon granules

teaspoon freshly ground pepper

large onion, chopped (1 cup)

cups chopped cooked ham

  1. In glass jar or decorative Halloween gift bag, layer soup mix ingredients. Store tightly covered at room temperature up to 2 months.
  2. In 3-quart saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Cook onion in oil 5 to 6 minutes, stirring frequently, until tender. Add ham, water and soup mix. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover; simmer 1 hour or until peas are tender.
