This soup was so delicious. I too had never heard of canned wild rice but did find it in a ready to heat and eat pouch. I used fat free evaporated milk in place of the half-and-half and it was still very creamy and less fattening. We added the toasted almonds at serving time so that they would be fresh for leftovers. It did reheat nicely in the microwave.

This was very good. The only thing I changed was using whole milk instead of half and half to save on calories. It did not change the creamy taste at all. I did like others use regular wild rice and just cooked it a head of time. VERY good will make again!!

This was a great basic soup, you for sure need to add somethings. For me it was some chicken, and garlic. The flavors also need to be brought out more, i ended up adding more salt than called for. It was a great dish though, and i loved the almonds, something i would never have thought of.

I made a quad recipe with this. Pre-cooked Lundberg wild rice blend, and added some chicken soup base. Served with Italian bread. mmmm... This was so good. Husband would have liked meat in it (that's his style), so am thinking that pre-cooked ground sausage or crumbled bacon would be good in this. This soup was a nice change and was thoroughly enjoyed!!!

I had trouble finding the rice, so I bought raw wild rice and cooked it before making the soup. Then I added cooked turkey to the mixture and doubled the recipe to have leftovers. It was very much liked and will be a repeat performance in my home.

I made it as printed and upon tasting it, found it very blah. So I added a can of cream of chicken soup, a cup of cut up left over chicken, 3/4 cup of frozen mixed vegetables, and about 4-6 oz. of cheddar cheese. Wow, my husband called this "pot-pie soup." It is really good with hot rolls!! I also used brown rice to make it more healthy, and you have to cook the vegies a lot longer than 4 minutes to get them tender! just keep adding water and cover while simmering and while cooking the rice.

One decent size bowl was very satisfying. Serves two very well with least another bowl or 2 left for lunch or dinner tomorrow. The frozen/canned wild rice scared me so I used a long grain & wild rice quick cook combo (dry mix), cooked it twice as long (30min), and it still turned out tasty. I prefer the veggie to be cooked a bit more anyhow. Even added a bit of Tony Chachere's for a mild kick, because face it Tony's makes everything better. I give it 2 thumbs & 4 spoons up.
