Directions

  • 1 Place all the dry ingredients in the mixer bowl.
  • 2 In a seperate container, combine warm water, oil, and honey. (oil will keep the honey from sticking to the spoon if you use the same measuring spoon and measure the oil first then the honey).
  • 3 Turn on the mixer with dough hook installed to low speed for 15 seconds. Then add the liquid mixture all at once and turn mixer to its lowest speed for about a minute and a half until ingredients are pretty well together. Turn the mixer off. Let it rest this way for 10 minutes
  • 4 Turn th emixer to the second speed and let it run 3 minutes. Remove the dough and turn onto a floured surface. Knead 3-4 times to remove the air bubbles.
  • 5 Place dough into an oiled bowl and cover with a cloth. Place in a warm place for 1 hour. At the end of the hour, punch it down and turn onto floured surface. Knead another 3-4 times. Form into loaves and put into 2 loaf pans. Place in the same warm place with a cloth draped over them and let them rise for 45 minutes.
  • 6 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. For a softened crust, brush olive oil over the tops of the loavesl. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until crust is the color you prefer.
  • 7 Remove from pans and let cool for atleast 30 minutes on a wire rack.

This recipe is good and helpful to anyone with limited use of their hands. I added a quarter of a cup of water and decreased the salt to one tablespoon. Delicious bread, fine crumb and cuts well for sandwiches. Try it!
