Whiskey Apple Fizz

An inspired variation on the hometown specialty of New Orleans, this fizz adds a touch of apple for extra snap.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup chopped unpeeled apple
  • 3 tablespoons whiskey (1 1/2 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • 6 tablespoons to 1/2 cup lemon-lime carbonated beverage (3 to 4 oz)
  • Apple or lemon slices

Steps

    In bottom of cocktail shaker, muddle chopped apple with muddler or end of wooden spoon. Add whiskey, lemon juice and powdered sugar.

    Fill cocktail shaker with ice; shake until blended. Pour into lowball glass filled with ice, straining out apple and ice. Add enough carbonated beverage to fill glass. Garnish with apple slices.
