As if by magic, the cinnamon candies melt, giving this spiced cider a rosy glow.

Ingredients

1/2
bottle (64-ounce size) apple cider
2
cups orange juice
2
tablespoons red cinnamon candies
1 1/2
teaspoons whole allspice
1
tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons honey

Directions

  • 1 Heat apple cider, orange juice, candies and allspice to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
  • 2 Remove allspice. Stir in honey. Serve warm.

Expert Tips

Allspice is also known as Jamaica pepper. These dried berries got their name because they taste like a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

Be sure to buy whole allspice berries instead of ground. You can put them in a tea ball or tie them up in a piece of cheesecloth for easy removal.
