Easy brownie-mix brownies get dressed up for the holidays with frosting and crushed peppermint candy.
box (1 lb 2.4 oz) Betty Crocker™ Original Supreme Premium brownie mix
Water, oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
cup plus 2 tablespoons Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy creamy white frosting (from 16 oz container)
to 1/4 teaspoon mint or peppermint extract
Green or pink food color
Peppermint or spearmint candies, crushed, if desired
Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom only of 8-inch or 9-inch square pan with cooking spray or shortening. Make brownies as directed on box. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
Stir together frosting, 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon extract and food color until smooth. Spread frosting evenly over brownies. Sprinkle with crushed candies. For brownies, cut into 4 rows by 4 rows. Store tightly covered.
Cut brownies into bite-size pieces and serve in holiday paper liners for easy dessert pickups.
