bag (1 lb) Green Giant® frozen mixed vegetables

cup cut-up cooked chicken
1
jar (12 oz) chicken gravy
2
cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
1
cup Original Bisquick® mix
1/4
cup milk
1/4
teaspoon dried thyme leaves
2
eggs

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. In 2-quart saucepan, heat vegetables, chicken and gravy to boiling, stirring frequently.
  • 2 In medium bowl, stir remaining ingredients until well blended. In ungreased 2-quart casserole, spread chicken mixture. Pour batter over chicken mixture.
  • 3 Bake uncovered 35 to 40 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Just whipped this up. Easy prep! I used another half jar of gravy, and added diced potatoes and cheddar cheese to the chicken mixture, along with some minced onion, oregano and black pepper. AWESOME! Better than KFC's! Biscuit topping was hard to spread, but plopping it on in small heaps and then swirling them together worked perfectly :)

I tried this dish. It was okay, I wasn't to thrilled by the biscuit topping, I think I may try cornbread mix next time! the filling was awesome though I just seasoned thechicken before cooking it!

i have no idea what the person before me did, but i have made this dish many times and my husband and i love it. yes, the batter is thick and tough to spread. but the end result is very nice.
