Turkey Sausage Cheese Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups Bisquick Heart Smart® mix
  • 1 lb uncooked lean turkey sausage
  • 3 cups shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese (12 oz)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup 1% milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves, crushed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley or 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • Barbeque sauce or chili sauce, if desired

    Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease bottom and sides of 15x10x1-inch pan.

    In large bowl, stir together all ingredients except barbeque sauce, using hands or spoon. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. Place in pan.

    Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brown and thermometer inserted in center of ball reads at least 165°F. Immediately remove from pan. Serve warm with sauce for dipping.

  • Use a small cookie scoop to form balls.
  • Try adding 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne) in place of the rosemary to add a kick.
