I had the same problem as kallen18. After putting hours of hard work in baking and decorating two dozen of these cupcakes, they were melted the next day. Luckily, i had some extra cookies, etc. and was able to fix them and keep them out on my cold porch. This is the only reason keeping me from rating these cupcakes with 5 spoons. My family loved them!

Good Idea for the kiddies while we're waiting for Thanksgiving Dinner. Gives them something constuctive to do instead of running around and making alot of noise while Mom is cooking in the kitchen.

I wanted to amend my below review to add - if you aren't serving these right away, wait to put the candy corn in place. I don't know if it was the brand I used (Brachs) or some other factor, but several of them melted into a sugary puddle after sitting at room temperature (covered in a tote), and then even after being refrigerated awhile to harden them up. It was still a success though - after all, I made them for five-year-olds, and they're not too picky!

I made these cupcakes last night for my son's Fall party which is this afternoon. I found the directions to be straight forward and easy to follow. The canned decorative icing (for the whites of the eyes) was a bit difficult to control at times - leading to the occasional large blobby eyes. The reason I wanted to write this review however was to share my disheartening experience when I woke up this morning and checked on them: the candy corn had seemingly melted on several of the turkeys, leading to missing feathers and beaks. I put all of the cupcakes in an enclosed cupcake tote at room temperature. I can only hope they'll retain shape by staying in the refrigerator until the party...

I made these cupcakes for the kids at Thanksgiving and they were a huge hit! They were soooo cute and very easy to make! I found the candy corn at Target and piped on white frosting for the eyes and placed black nonpareils for the pupils. I didn't think the extra icing line on the back was necessary and also didn't prefer the look of the sprinkles. These were very easy to make and oh so adorable! Will make again!
