Expert Tips

If you have fresh dill growing in the garden, use 2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill weed in place of the dried dill weed.

Add carrot and celery sticks with your favorite dip for an easy summer meal. Serve ice cream and fresh berries for dessert.

This sandwich was light, refreshing and surprisingly filling (even though I put them on whole-grain sandwich thins rather than whole slices of bread). The cucumbers add a nice, cool crunch. I'm not sure if its because I used dried dill weed, but the dill flavor didn't really come through on the mayo for me. All the same, it was a perfect summer sandwich. I served it with my mom's German tomato salad (chopped tomatoes, sugar, red wine vinegar, salt and onions) as a side and a dill pickle. We can't wait until the weather cools off so we can have the same meal on of our picnics!
