Make a cookie that shouts "kids' table treats," and guess what? No rolling is needed.

Great recipe, to make with the children! It's a fun idea. The kids love to help, especially with the icing!

These cookies were a lot of fun to make. We used gingerbread cookie dough, and just used a squeeze of frosting around the top to hold the corn. We also skipped the mini candies and used broken white tips of the candy corn for beaks and dots of frosting for the eyes. We will definately make these again.

These have become our 'Thanksgiving tradition' since we saw them a couple of years ago. The candy corn is available in small bags at the HEB supermarket nearby. They have them year-round. I use the mini-M&Ms and I pull all the green ones aside. Instead of the black decorating gel, I use the chocolate frosting and dot pupils for the eyes on the green mini m&ms with a toothpick. I also usually ask the local bakery at the HEB to sell me a small quantity of yellow frosting (about $1) and I use a parchment pastry tube and a little #3 deco tube to pipe the legs and the beak. These are simple, fun and YUM! Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix in the bags are very, very good. Follow the directions and drop the cookies by spoonful on the cookie sheet. Bake about 13 minutes and they are terrific. Happy Thanksgiving!

When I make these cookies again, I would make sure the tip of the frosting is finer. I struggled making the small little legs and nose especially since the cookie size is so small. Perhaps would make the cookies larger and have less of them. I could not find any small color coated chocolate pieces. so I just used skittles instead. Worked just fine.
