Made this with the triple chocolate cake mix and only one egg. Very moist but not quite brownie texture. I agree with others that I wanted more cherry flavor, will try sour cherries next time.
Second cake I used spice cake mix and used comstock apple filing along with cinnamon chips from King Arthur and chopped pecans. I used a bundt pan and glazed with a simple powered sugar/water/vanilla glaze....We all liked this one much better.
The cake assembled in less than five minutes all in one bowl...I love that! As soon as I was done putting it in the pan it was time to go in the oven. What a great recipe to have an elegant dessert with really no work at all!
