Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned reduced-fat (lite) coconut milk (not cream of coconut)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 bag (10 oz) frozen organic harvest berries
  • 1 cup fresh baby spinach
  • 1/4 cup bran cereal shreds
  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed
  • 1 medium banana

Steps

    In blender, place all ingredients. Cover; blend on high speed, stopping occasionally to scrape down sides as needed, 30 to 45 seconds or until flaxseed and spinach are finely chopped.

    Pour into 4 glasses. Serve immediately.

    Coconut milk can separate while in the can, so be sure to stir it before measuring.

    The benefits of flaxseed can be utilized by the body only if ground up. Use the highest speed of your blender to make sure the seed is grinding up.
