I always have bad luck with my frosting as well, so I was a little intimidated by this recipe. I used a mixer rather than doing it by hand and mixed past the point I usually think is enough. The frosting came out thick and the total package was excellent! Going to put a Christmas spin on these by dyeing the frosting mint green and topping with an Andes candy.

I just made these for the 2nd time and both times the brownies come out great (thought they only make 12, no way could they make any more unless they were teeny tiny), but my frosting is a hot mess everytime! The first time I thought it was because I hand mixed it, but I mixed it very vigorously and it was so soupy I tried to pass it off as "graveyard swamp brownies" with little chocolate tombstones. They tasted great but no one would touch them. This second time, I used a mixer the icing was still thin and runny! I don't understand what the problem is!

I made these for our annual Halloween party and for a work potluck and they were a hit. Instead of making 24 brownies cupcakes, I made 18 and they were a lot more substantial. I think in order to make 24 you would need to make the cupcakes really thin.

My frosting was less than perfect. It tasted good, just not whipped looking like the picture. I probably should have read the directions a little better on the brownie recipe too. I baked them as standard brownies, you know toothpick in the center comes out clean and they are so hard that the only edible part about them was the frosting....maybe next time! When I reread the recipe it says to insert a toothpick near the edge after 18 minutes...mine were in the oven for well over 30 minutes.....amateur

I looked forward to baking this all week and having just made it, I am very disappointed. This was not for 24 cupcakes. Should be fine with 12. Also, the icing was far too sweet and the orange doesn't come out like it does in this picture.

I'm wondering approximately how much batter you put in each muffin cup. The recipe just says to "divide it up" and I usually over or under estimate how much to make it come out evenly. It's not a HUGE deal, just curious! Thanks.

I found this recipe on a calender and decided to make them and take them into the Center I volunteer for! They are a complete hit, who knew you could make brownie cupcakes... I never thought of it and I've done a million things Culinary wise. I put candy corn on some and mini snickers on the rest in case some people liked one or the other. I hope you use this recipe, it's perfect for your kids classroom parties, or even as a adult halloween party! If you like brownies, you'll love this one!

JamieSuzanne~~ I also plan to replicate this recipe using the Betty Crocker Brownie mix, everything else should be good to go GF wise. I've done that before where I just substitue the mixes so it's GF. I will be trying this very soon, so I'll let you know how it turns out, or let me know what you think! Betty Crocker has THE BEST GF mixes, and you should try their Choc. Chip PB Brownies are amazing! Good Luck!

My girls had me make this for their school bake sale. They said that their friends and them really enjoyed them. I made 8 dozen so it obviously took longer than the recipe states. But these treats were very easy to do.
