SO GOOD! Tastes (and looks) fancy too ;) I wanted to use what i had in stock at home. So I used black beans instead, awesome. No pesto but i did have basil and threw that in. I also made this in the crock pot. :)

This soup is terrific! As per other reviewers, I made some changes. I used chicken broth, skipped the kidney beans and used corn instead, doubled the carrots and celery and cooked the tortellini separately. I also added chicken to make it heartier. You wouldn't think the pesto would be good in soup, but the pesto and the parm are the keys to making this a standout soup. I will keep this is my favorites. Thanks to the other reviewers for the suggestions!

This soup was ok. The problem was that it was too watery for my liking, and it was lacking flavor..had to add way more pesto and cheese and salt and pepper

Use chicken stock instead of water and bouillon...makes for a great base and a super soup - my picky eaters loved this. Tremendous flavor!

Soooo yummy! One of the best recipes I have found on this site. My 3-year-old and my picky hubby both loved it! I doubled to make sure I would have plenty of left-overs for lunches. Soooo good. Maybe use a little less noodles, as it does seem to be a little too thick...but sooo good.

Good recipe - I substituted corn for the kidney beans (side effects of kidney beans...not good) which gave it an interesting sweet dimension. I also used canned chicken broth which may be a bit too salty - I'll go for the low sodium variety next time. I used refrigerated roased chicken tortelloni. - yummy. Side dishes were salad, crusty bread and mango.
