EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

These cookies were often called Thimble Cookies in older cookbooks because bakers used a thimble to make the indentation.

You'll be done in a flash if you use a food processor to chop the nuts.

I just made these and wanted to give my two cents. Really easy to make, but I changed a few things. I took another persons advise and tripled teh reciped and used all butter. I dropped them by the spoonful instead of rolling into a ball and did not use the whites or nuts. My inpression was made with a round 1/2 tsp dipped in flour so it wouldn't stick. And lastly, I added the jelly before baking. Wonderful!!
