My mom used to make shortcake from Bisquick back in the late 40's. It was great them and it is still great. Back then you could not get fresh fruit all year long so in the Winter she would make shortcake out of canned peaches or somethimes fruit cocktail. My favorite is fresh peaches with raspberries.

There are other types of shortcakes, but nothing has ever compared to your recipe. I grew up on this recipe, and I''m always looking for new ideas, but to me this is what constitutes true shortcake.

Not only easy and fast, but yummy! When berries are in season I love to make a dessert that looks and taste like I spent hours on it.

Shortcakes never tasted so good! I made this dandy for Fourth of July and cut the shortcakes with star-shaped cutters for a patriotic themed dessert that was a real hit! Wish I had made more ''cause they all went so quickly!
