That's not the kind of Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake we eat in Texas. The texture is completely different than this recipe. I'm not saying this cake is not good, just traditional Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake.

Here's the chocolate "sheath" cake I grew up with: 2 c sugar, 2 c. flour, 1 tsp soda, 2 tsp cinnamon--Mix thoroughly. In a saucepan, combine: 1 stick of margarine, 4 T cocoa, 1/2 c. oil, 1 c. water. Combine liguid with powdered mixture . Mix thoroughly. Add: 1/2 c. buttermilk, 2 eggs, beaten, 1 tsp. vanilla. Add to cake mixture. Mix thoroughly. Pour into greased 13x9x2 pan. Bake @ 400 for 20 minutes. ***5 minutes before cake is done, (In same saucepan) combine 1 stick butter, 4T cocoa, 6T milk. Add 1 box of powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla and 1 c. pecans. Mix and pour at once on hot cake. Delicious with Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla!! Great cake for church parties, group gatherings. Can mix, bake and ice in 45 minutes!!!!!

I love this cake! We have it at all our family gatherings. It is always moist and delicious. We cover only half with nuts so those that don't like them can enjoy the cake too.

I made this cake for my family and shared it with our neighbors. Everyone loved it and asked for seconds!! The bread was so moist and delicious!! I mixed the pecans with a little melted butter and toasted them for about 10mins in the oven before I topped the cake. It was super easy to make! Will definitely use this recipe again!!
