I made a Gluten Free version of this tonight. In place of the pretzels & cheese crackers, I used BBQ flavored corn chips, crunchy knock-off Cheetos and redskin peanuts. My husband and I both quite liked it.
After a few handfuls, we discussed improvements for future batches. The flavor was a bit mild, we'll either be increasing the amount of taco seasoning or adding actual cumin and a touch of cayenne. I'd also like to try substituting lime juice for the water to bring an extra bit of flavor and "zing" to the tongue.
