Readers, skip this one - terrible texture & appearance (with meat browned stovetop) by mixing the refried beans in with the meat you get a mush that's disgusting. I regret the waste of ingredients & time. This was an embarrasement to serve to my guests. Minnesota Mom

This sounds just perfect. I love a Taco salad and have no idea of how to put one together. I think I will try this tonight...can't wait.

sorry but I have to agree with some of the other reviews, Skillet browned burger and seasonings are much better tasting and Canned beans work fine if you re-cook them in hot oil and season them or (cook them beans from scratch) you will definately taste the difference. but over all this is good.

The bean and meat mixture was excellent. It was good even without sour cream! I just added some chili powder to the meat instead.

Great dip! I cooked a little chopped up bacon w/ my meat & onion mixture. This was a great dip for our backyard bbq. I'd call this more of a frito chili pie taste rather than taco salad. I'll be making this again & again.

I used a pound of hamburger instead of a 1/2 and I served it on tortilla chips and topped it with lettuce, cheese, salsa, and sour cream and served it as a meal. My husband and kids loved it!

This was very tasty and different. My microwave took a little longer to cook the meat, and it never did get hot and bubbly once done, but it was really good and different from the others that I've tried. It was really garlicky, but I did use a fairly good sized clove and we like a lot of garlic. I'll most likely make this again.
